We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Strong Middle/Senior Data Operations Engineer to join our team. As a Data Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our big data infrastructure in co-location data centers. Your main responsibilities will include implementing monitoring and alerting systems, evaluating and optimizing infrastructure configurations, capacity planning, automating provisioning and configuration processes, and addressing ad-hoc requests from the engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of big data technologies and best practices, Linux system administration, Kubernetes, and DevOps principles. Coding experience, particularly in Python/Scala, is also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the big data infrastructure in our colocation data centers.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for all hardware and operating systems used in the big data stack.
  • Evaluate existing configurations and architecture, and implement changes to optimize the performance of the big data infrastructure in accordance with best practices.
  • Perform capacity planning for hardware resources to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Automate the provisioning and configuration processes for big data services.
  • Address ad-hoc requests from the engineering team by promptly resolving tickets and providing technical support.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of big data technologies and best practices.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Data Warehousing, Data Lakehouse, Kafka, Cassandra, and Druid.
  • Hands-on experience in Linux system administration and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment.
  • Some programming experience required (Python/Scala/Go)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
